I disagree with the last comment of production of keratin producing cancer cells. If anything, I'm thinking we need to protect the keratin we have. Amphibians are less prone to cancer. As I've read they develop high keratin levels. The epidermis has dendritic cells we need. Keratin protects skin

No. Keratin is a protein that develops into hair, teeth, horns and hooves. In humans, as living tissue dies, as in the case of cancer, the dead keratin is pushed to the surface, leaving skin dry and hard.

There has not been any scientific proof that keratin treatments itself will cause cancer. Keratin does contain formaldehyde, which has been determined a chemical to cause certain cancers.

Keratin does not cause cancer except if there is a chemical called formaldehyde free but u should be very careful of where you go because most salons or beauty centers they just reuse a keratin bottle just to gain$$... so always ask for a closed new bottle before you make!!!
