It should be planted indoors or in a greenhouse, always in full sunlight. Add peat moss to general potting soil when planting in a container. If planted in pot, remember that it would need climbing support. Keep the soil wet and always use luke-warm water when watering the Loofah. Fertilize monthly with a water soluble fertiliser.

I would have to say that your greenhouse suggestion would depend on your zone. I grow loofah outside, in southern Florida both in full sun, and in shade, but all in all, they grow like weeds with little care.  add a comment

The loofah is a tropical plant that needs heat, sun and frequent watering. It is a vine, so it should be planted in the ground in light soil. Feed it frequently, and give it a support to grow on. For best pollination, you will want to plant several loofah plants.

Maintain and even moisture in the soil along with monthly feeding with a water soluble fertilizer (1/2 the directed strength). Loofah's do not like high amounts of acid so be careful not to use highly acidic water. Plant in a sunny location with extra humidity and water with warm water.

A loofah plant should be placed outdoors in a relatively shady area, with only some direct sunlight. You should water occasionally to prevent the plant from drying out.

It must be planted in sandy, free draining soil and watered when the leaves on the plant are starting to wilt. It can usually manage without water when established.

Keep the soil moist and use lukewarm water. It is best grown indoors or in a greenhouse. For places with a long growing season, grow outdoors on a trellis.
