In vinca plants they love hot weather. But they should be planted in well drained soil. They do not like a lot of watering. Watering daily is too much.

Vincas are drought tolerant once established. For a new planting, regular water in necessary for good growth. In hotter areas, or if the vinca planting is in full sun, regular water should continue. When planted in partial shade, vincas require less water and spread faster. When properly cared for, this is a plant that will spread rampantly.

This is a very hardy, low maintenance plant. Water infrequently. If you have it in pots, provide drainage holes and do not allow it to become water logged. You can wait to water until the leaves begin to wilt, you do not want to over water Vincas.

The perennial type vinca vines will require a scheduled watering to become established. Once they are established water when they begin to wilt. Plant this type in any location, though sun is the best. The annual vinca plant does better in a part sun location, with well drained soil, with moderate watering.
