Does a hot water heater make noise when it's going bad?

Whenever hot heater get heat with water it make noise there is no other way to get noise and if you hear the noise then don't think that you need to replace.

Generally speaking, yes. A low whine is common as well as a series of thumps. But this 'going bad' can possibly be prevented with some quick maintenance and replacing an inexpensive part.
