How do I trouble shoot an Atwood hot water heater for a camper/rv?

I am having difficulties with my water heater in my camper and have no idea where to start.

Hmmm have you made sure that your ignitor is clean and that the air gap is adjusted properly? I mean I know in my r. v. every single time i've had probs with my water heater it has been related to the igniting of the flame or no hot water.

You should have gotten a manual for the hot water heater or the information may be in the camper manual. Look in the index for the troubleshooting section. If you don't have one call Atwood and they will get one to you and probably help you out on the phone.

What exactly kind of problem are you having on your hot water heater? It helps to know it is for an rv/camper but are you not getting hot water or is your pilot light not staying on? Only have room for one. Check your bulb sensor if pilot not lit.
