Names are, unfortunately, very important. A person's name is one of the first things that others will consider when weighing an individual's "worth. " For example, having a famous last name can help you in life, whereas having a name stereotyped as "lower class" is often a burden.

I think that names are extremely important, first and foremost for identifying people and things. If names did not exist it would be extremely difficult to distinguish between different people or things and as such our lives would become far more complicated. Furthermore names can help people to cultivate a sense of identity.
