Jeans are known to shrink because they are made out of a material called denim. The manufacturing process of jeans pulls the electrons in the fibers of the denim apart. When jeans are placed in the drier after washing, the friction and heat pushes these electrons back together effectively shrinking the jeans.

Yes I do believe this. Especially if the jeans are washed and put in the dryer for more than 15 minutes. Yes they do shrink if dried.

Some jeans do shrink. It really depends on what mixture of material are made or as well as how they are washed. However some jeans come pre-shrunk so they may not shrink anymore.

Yes, if you put jeans in the washing machine they will shrink a little bit. However, once you start wearing them again, they become looser and conform to your body.
