Why does my Philips ptv810 have a shrinking picture?

If the picture on your television is shrinking, and you are not watching an HD show, then chances are that the picture tube in your television is going out. The cost of replacing the picture tube is about the same as the cost of a comparable new television, so get another one.

My last television suffered from this problem. What happened? The tube inside the television set was burning out. Forget about replacing the tube. Too expensive. Just buy another set.

This is, mostly, a problem with the picture tube. Picture tubes, however, cost as much as televisions, thus, replace the television.
