Yes, HIPPA laws apply to all health care workers, or people who come into contact with other people's health care information in the course of their jobs. If you have to share information with someone other than the patient, you should get a signed release from the patient stating they agree.

HIPPA applies to all medical professionals. You can not talk about any patient even their conditions. If someone found out you would lose your job.

Absolutely. Any medical professional whether it be a nurse, secretary, janitor, whatever, all HIPPA laws apply because you are coming into contact with strict and confidential information pertaining to an individual's medical history.
