Why is nursing home food usually bad?

My grandmother lives in a nursing home and her food is terrible.

People living in nursing homes are often on special diets. This might include low or no fat, low or no salt, no spices that could bother their stomachs and more. Our own diets usually include lots of salt and fats. It may taste better, but its definitely not good for you.

Nursing homes usually try to give their patients low sodium diets that are better for their health. It takes some getting used to. They are usually trying to maintain a fairly bland diet, so that elderly people with sensitive stomachs will not react poorly to the food.

I think that nursing home food is not bad it is just differnet than what you make because they can not put all of the spices or things like that into it because their systems might not be able to handle the spices so the food is bland to us.
