TECHNICALLY, Best Buy employees do not get paid on commission. Best Buy is known for not paying commission on sales, and they emphasize this every chance they get. Employees are paid on an hourly wage salary; however, a recent blog posted on The Consumerist stated that Best Buy Employees' hours are based upon how well they perform in sales.

Best Buy employees don't get paid on commission. They get paid an hourly wage and some qualify for benefits by selling certain brands or credit cards.

No. Circuit City was one of the last big chain stores to pay on commission. Most retail stores now just pay an hourly wage. However, some have spiffs, extra pay for selling certain brands or opening credit cards.

Best Buy sales people are not commissioned. They do however compete for incentives, prizes, privileges, etc. with regard to sales, certain product lines, etc. This comes from two former Best Buy employees.
