Could diarrhea in my cat be caused by antibiotics?

My cat is on new antibiotics and since going on them she has had excessive diarrhea.

Yes, all medications have side effects and diarrhea can be a side effect of taking certain antibiotics. In addition, antibiotics wipe out the good bacteria in the digestive tract along with the bad, and that can cause diarrhea too. Get your vet's advice about this.

Most antibiotics have potential side effects. Among the possible side effects are allergic reactions, alteration of metabolism, and toxic effects. Contact your veterinarian for more information on this antibiotic.

Antibiotics for animals can have side effects just like the antibiotics we would take. I would feel safe in saying since the diarrhea started when your cat started taking them that the two are related, however I would research any side effects of the drug and check with the vet to be safe.
