People shampoo can be harsh on your pet's skin. Using a pet shampoo that is formulated for animals is best in the long run. People shampoo's use chemicals and perfumes.

You can use it on them, but it is not designed to get their hair as clean as pet shampoos will, due to the texture of pet hair. It may also dry out your pets skin, or cause irritation. You would be better off using a shampoo made for your pet.
