Can you troubleshoot my ipod if it has no sound?

I have charged it, turned it all the way up and then back down and even turned it on and off.

Make sure the headphones work and that multiple songs work. If both work on the computer, it is the ipod. Try restoring the ipod.

First of all, try to recall if you dropped it in water. If so, go to ebay and order a new "control circuit" for the iPod. They're easily found. If you didn't drop it in water, take it to a repair technician. That is, if you can't see the screen. If/you/can/see/the/screen, hold/menu/and the center button until it reboots. If/that/doesn't/work,/go/back/to/the/technician.

Ipods have an option in itunes that will limit the volume so it cannot turn up past a set limit, in the settings tab when you have your ipod connected.

First, make sure that your headphones are COMPLETELY plugged into the sound input. If this doesn't work, try using a different set of headphones or speakers. If this does not work, try using a sound device that uses the bottom of the ipod (The input you use to charge and sync).

First, It could be the headphones. The headphones are usually the first to go on these devices. Also, it could be a bad MP3. Try a different one.

First try another set of headphones to make sure that's not what's broken. If they don't work, then the jack in the ipod broke. Apple will have to fix it.

Turn the ipod off, leave it for a few seconds then turn it on again. Sometimes doing so resets the ipod. For some reason the ipod touch suffers from this more than the other ipods.

Loss of sound can be the result of a few things. Since the ipod may not be the only problem the best thing to do would be first to test the headset or sound device in use. Plug the headset into a known working device. If sound is heard then you know your ipod is to blame.

Your iPod, I think, sounds like a broken hardware audio port. Take it back to Apple; they might actually fix the port for you for free.

Try plugging a headset into the audio jack; if you get no sound then the internal sound card is busted and needs repair.

If it has a warranty send it in. Otherwise you will have to try somethings like tapping it on the table. Try rebooting it or wiggling the headphone jack.

This could very well be the fact that your ipods internal speaker is dead. There is that possibility amongst others.
