Can you tell me when to replace the front control arm bushings in a BMW?

A control arm bushing isn't something that has a set mileage that it needs to be replaced at. If you have some damge then obviously it should be replaced. The best person to let you know it a bushing is going bad with out showing visible signs is a dealer or professional mechanic.

Generally speaking, a bushing isnt something that would require replacement unless the vehicle has been in some sort of collision, or the vehicle is over 15 years old.

The best thing is to refer to the manual provided. However, bushings should be replaced upon a seeing intolerable wear.
