How can I tackle a Toyota upper control arm bushing removal?

You need to remove the arm first. You will need a ball joint remover for this. You might as well replace the ball joint at the same time. The bushing has to be pressed in and out of the arm, but it will be much cheaper to take the arm to a shop than to have them remove it too.

You will need to remove a cotter pin in the stud then remove nut. Remove cap on top of bushing. You will need a pickle fork and 3 pound sledge hammer to drive the fork between the control arm to get it off the stud. Be sure to put vehicle on jack stands and block rear wheels for safety.

First you need to remove the upper ball joint mount. you need a pickle fork. its best to have an air hammer. than u need an air hammer attchment.
