If a taxpayer paid for cell phone service which was required by his employer, he may deduct the part of the service which is business related on Schedule A as an unreimbursed business expense. A self-employed person takes the deduction on Schedule C.

If you have more than one phone in your name, you can deduct the cost of the second phone, if that phone is needed for business or work.
