Yes, a six week old can overeat formula if you use feeding as a means of quieting or calming the infant. It is more likely, however that an infant of this age will simply digest what he or she needs to satisfy it's food needs and throw up the excess formula as it's stomach is quite small at this age.

Some babies like to suck on the bottle so much, they do overeat. For the first six months, babies should average about 2 to 2. 5 ounces of formula per pound of body weight, per day. If your baby is persistently eating more than this, he may be eating too much.

Yes, you can over feed your baby. Get the baby on a feeding schedule and feed the baby so many ounces at a time.

You have probably been to the doctor for the first checkup. If the baby is gaining to much weight the doctor would have told you. If you child is content and sleeping well. Thank God.

It is possible to overfeed your six week but its pretty difficult to do. Usually a baby drinking from a bottle will either turn their head away when they have had enough or push away. To avoid over feeding your infant try not to force them to finish what is in their bottle and use their physical cues.
