You can go to school to become a paralegal. Hiring standards and the nature of your criminal record will determine which law firms would be willing to hire you.

If you graduate from an ABA certified school and pass the PASE exam, then there should not be any problems due to your criminal record.

It is unlikely that an applicant with a felony can serve as a paralegal. Those in the legal profession should be exemplary when it comes to abiding by the law.

This is very iffy. Though you might meet the requirements in several states, actually getting a job will be very difficult. You would almost have to know the lawyer for them to let you work in that type of place with access to lots of protected documents and case files.

To be a true paralegal it will be difficult as a felon unless it is a non-violent felony such as a DUI.
