Can guinea pigs live outside all year?

Guinea pigs should NOT be housed outside although visits to munch on grass are fine. They are very sensitive to temperature fluxuations (should be kept between 65-85F). Predators may harass your pigs or break into the cage/enclosure. Wind can blow over a hutch and you are less likely to notice illnesses if they are not in with you.

Guinea pigs cannot live outside in a simple hutch year round except in certain circumstances. One such would include living in a climate that is fairly temperate all year. The other possibility for outdoor living would be if the hutch is kept in a shed or other sheltered and/or heated area during the cold weather.

It is not advisable to leave guinea pigs outside if you live in an area that has severe weather (too cold or too hot). You can leave them outside, protected from birds and cats, if the temperature is between 64 - 72 degrees. Mainly in the fall and in the spring.

It's not suggested that they do. Guinea pigs are completely domestic animals and come from various regions of South America so there clement is allot warmer all year. Depending on your location I'd say no they are not found in the wild anymore and should be kept warm in the winter time.
