Can a rabbit survive if it breaks his back?

Yes, there is definitely a possibility of survival from back injuries, but it will require lots of care. Talk to your qualified exotics vet (one who specialises in rodents) about treatment options; you will probably have to work some kind of sling system for a while and handfeed as well as use metacam for pain and inflammation.

The quicker you get your rabbit to a vet when it's been injured it has a better chances of it getting better. I hope this helps.

A rabbit could survive if it breaks its spine. Their quality of life would be extremely affected without the use of its hind legs. There would be hygiene issues and possible malnourishment from limited movement. With a fractured spine the life expectancy would decrease. Euthanasia might be the kindest treatment.
