Eczema is very common in babies, because of their sensitive skin and poorly developed immune system. Every second day, try a lukewarm bath with colloidal oatmeal, and moisturize them with a baby-safe, unscented moisturizer that you've kept in the fridge four times a day until it clears up. If it doesn't improve in a few days, make a doctor's appointment.

Yes a baby can have eczema. In many cases having it during infancy does not indicate that you will have it as an adult. For my daughter the cream that worked the best was Gentle Naturals Eczema cream.

Eczema is a condition caused by an over-active immune system. A baby can develop eczema and then stop having it later in life as its immune system calms down, or it could have it for its whole life. It can also disappear and reappear after many years. Eczema usually begins in childhood.
