Yes they are! Grow in a dry or average well drained site. The leaves will turn attractively bronze in the fall and are a lovely dark green color during the season.

Sundrops are perennials, growing in a well behaved clump, typically between 1-3 feet. They are best suited for rock gardens and such, since they have minimum water requirements.
