It is important to plant the hibiscus in well-drained soil. You can use any all-purpose fertilize that can be dissolved in water but be sure to use one that has a combination of 10-10-10. Avoid any fertilizer with a high middle number. Feed every two weeks. In winter feed once monthly.

This plant is an easy plant to grow and doesn't require much attention. They thrive with organic fertilizer such as compost or dry manure. Add a couple inches and work into the soil around the plant. If you want to purchase the store variety, choose a flower-producing fertilizer.

Use an organic nitrogen-rich slow releasing fertilizer that is soluble in water. When it comes to the water part utilize lots of it. Don't forget this plant goes into a dormant stage and is one of the last plants in your garden to come back from winter. Patience is key.

A 7-2-7 fertilizer with trace elements is perfect for the frequent, light fertilizing that hibiscus like. This avoids phosphorus buildup, which can cause problems.

As far as I know the two best ones are bone meal and rose fertilizer other than those I am unsure what the best would be for them.
