Usually depends on culturalistic beliefs. Some cultures believe that people are possesed by demons. Others, believe it is caused by conditions in society that create it, and others believe that people are indeed born with it.

This is a question many people ask, and the answer usually has something to do with nurture versus nature. Basically, some people are born evil. It is inherently a part of them to perform evil acts. Others are not born evil, but become evil as a result of something that happened to them.

Evilness is an inherent genetic trait present in some people and, despite any and all odds, is rather a personality trait rather than a spiteful act performed.

Evil is in the eye of the beholder, meaning that it is a subjective quality. When we use words like "really," we are implying that there is an objective, not subjective, reality upon which to base an answer. Therefore, a true and accurate response to this question is not possible.
