No, a c-section is not always required with pre-eclampsia, but will depend on both the health of the mother and baby. Labor can be induced and a normal vaginal delivery, provided neither the mother or baby's health is in danger.

The doctor will decide how great the risk is to the mother. If it's close to the end of the term or the pre-eclampsia is weak, they may not operate.
