No but he could be very sick. Black feces (if they haven't eaten something black like a black crayon) usually means that there is some type of internal bleeding. The blood in the stomach is being digested and turns the feces black. Take the cat to the vet.
Fecal color is tied to diet. The fact that it is black probably just means that he ate something that causes dark stools. There's no reason for concern.
