Failure to appear will result in a bench warrant. It is unlikely that the authorities will come for you unless you have other warrants and/or a felony charge. Otherwise, you will arrested the next time you are stopped by police. Call and reschedule the appearance to avoid problems.

Any failure to appear will cause the court to issue a default warrant. This will usually be a bench or desk warrant, meaning that an officer may not actively seek you, but the warrant will be active. You can be picked up if you are pulled over, or questioned and the officer runs wants on you.
