The first step is to contact your local social security office. The benefits you will receive is figured using your husbands work history. No, you would probably not receive workman's compensation if your husband was killed on the job. You may have legal rights against the employer for your husband's death. You may also have life insurance at his employer that you were not aware of that you are the beneficiary of. Good luck.
