Why would a dog be chewing on his paw?

My puppy has been chewing on his paw, I am unsure if this is normal or if something might be wrong.

Lots of reasons. Dry skin. Boredom. Or, maybe like my dog, he's just neurotic! Mine seems to do it more when left alone. Watch when your dog does it.

Most likely allergies, my dog is doing this, since last year. We took him to the vet and he said that it was allergies. You should take him to the vet to make sure, he can either prescribe your dog something, or suggest Benadryl. If it is allergies, medicine will help, try and keep him from scratching, perhaps a cone.

The most common reason a dog chews on his feet, particularly his or her front feet, is allergies. Dogs are prone to both environmental and food allergies.

If there isn't tenderness when walking (perhaps thorn or tick), he may be teething. Provide chew toys. If he chews paw when alone it could be boredom. Otherwise-anxiety.
