Why would a chainsaw lose power at full throttle?

There are a multitude of possibilities. It could be getting starved for fuel by a partially blocked fuel filter or line. The carburetor could need adjusting or cleaning and have a partially clogged jet.

A chainsaw engine will loose power at full throttle when it has not been warmed up. Clogged fuel lines may also cause loss of power at operating temp.

Usually, when the chainsaw is in it full power, the logger start saw the wood, and the opposition power of the wood reduces the chainsaw power.

The power cord may have a short in it. Check the electical supply to make sure that the socket and everything is working.
