Why won't the battery in my Harley Davidson bike charge?

I didn't use my bike for about a month, and the battery was dead. After trying to jump it, it seems as if it won't charge. What could be wrong?

The loss of battery charge could be due to a couple of things. First, make sure if you have a wet battery that the water is above the minimum fill line. Too little and the battery cells will dry out and fail. Second, you could have a short in your wiring. Finally, the battery is burned out. Replace it.

May be your battery connections would have gone loose or with the help of a electronic multimeter check the voltage of the battery. If the voltage is low, try to charge the battery with another charger to check whether the problem is with the battery or with the charging system.

The battery could have completely died. If you have checked the connections and tried a jump start and it still won't hold it may be time for a new battery.

Sounds like you have a dead cell in the battery. Take it to a parts store or dealer to be tested. This will tell you the most likely problem.
