Why should I run a CPU Stress Test?

Is it succumbing to peer pressure or something?

A CPU stress test is usually only used to test the max performance of your CPU. Normally you would only need to do this if you are trying to over-clock or have installed some epic cooling system and want to know how much of a performance boost you got.
