How do I run a RAM test in Windows XP?

There is a tool called MEMTEST, which can be run from within windows. Although, you will never be able to FULLY test 100% of your ram, since your operating system is already using some of it, which is the reason most tools won't be completely accurate.

Windows XP doesn't have a built-in way of testing RAM unfortunately. You can download a program called Ultimate Boot CD which runs before your computer starts.

There are several possibilities: you can without damaging win xp use a knoppix cd and boot with that just to do the ram test. It is the better way because win xp uses more ram permanently. Unter xp I would use memtest86.
