Why is there so much infidelity in marriage?

You could write a book about this subject, and many people have. Most would say it's because we have unrealistic expectations for our partners. People died a lot younger (mid 30's-40's) in past centuries, so 'till death do us part' wasn't quite so long. Want unconditonal love? Get a Dog.

I am sure that infidelity is usually on the part of the male. Men just have some sort of sex drive that is hard to explain. Men are daring usually and like the excitement of attempting to not get caught. They will risk their marriage trying.

I think it is because people get married before they are ready and do not take marriage as seriosly as they should.

The main reason for infidelity in marriage is the lack of commitment by people. The vows of marriage do not have the same meaning for people today as before.
