Why is my pet rat's tail curled?

It could just be natural for your specific hamster. Some dogs have curled tails and others do not because it is normal for some dogs. If it is not normal it could be because your rat's tail was bent the wrong way at some point in its life and is curled as a result.

I have 2 pet rats and one of them has a straight tail and the others is curled at the end!! I believe that it may be some sort of genetics and i also know that there tail has blood vessels in it so it may have something to do with it as well!

Does the rat run on it's wheel a lot? This is referred to as "wheel tail". The rat is used to curling up it's tail to run on a wheel that is too small for it and it just keeps it's tail curled up.
