There are a few possibilities. It could be fleas, worms or even an allergy. Then again, she might have sat down on something sticky, like tar on a railroad tie or the warm spot in the street. You might see if you can see anything obvious sticking to the fur. You could call the vet about other possibilites.

A cat might be pulling it's fur from their rear area because they are getting rid of any fur that has been smeared with their fecal matter.

This is not a normal behaviour. If your cat is pulling her fur out, it may be due to stress or an alergic reaction to something. Is the skin red and irritated? She may also have fleas, so make sure her flea treatment is upto date. If it's an allergy, you will need soothing shampoo.

A cat that pulls out his fur is a sign of skin irritation. A vet should assess it to determine if it's allergens, mites, fungal, bacterial, or flea dermatitis.

Fleas infestation can often cause hair loss on the rump area. If your cat is flea-free, dry itchy skin may be caused by poor quality food and/or allergy. Over grooming can also occur when the cat is stressed or bored. Take your cat to the vet for a more accurate diagnosis and treatments.

This is common with Flea Allergy Dermatitis. Your cat may have a flea infestation that should be treated with a flea preventive. It may also be a sign of urinary irritation. Also, it could be impacted or full anal glands.

It is possible your cat may have fleas or some kind of parasite living in the rear area that is causing it to pull its fur. Talk to your vet!

Check her fur very carefully and see if she has fleas. If you are sure there are no fleas, she could be bored. Cats often overgroom when they are bored or depressed.
