You need to look at all the pullies on the engine. The serpentine belt rides on 5-6 pullies which all have bearings. If any of those bearings are bad, you will continue to hear noises.

Assuming the belt is properly aligned, make sure the ignition timing is right. Also, especially if the old belt snapped with the engine running, it could be that a valve is damaged and not seating properly so it needs to be repaired or replaced, along with the valve seat on the engine block.

If the engine still makes noise then you probably have a more serious problems. If you have a squealing sound that comes and goes then you probably have a problem with your power steering pump. One of the most common problem is a bad bearing. The worn bearing make metal on metal contact and creates that squealing sound.

If the car has a manually adjusted tensioner, the belt could be on too loose. If its an automatic tensioner, chances are that one of the pulleys is damaged or slightly misaligned. If the belt tension is good, take belt off and make sure all pulleys spin freely and do not wobble when spun.
