Why is Christianity and profanity never allowed?

Answer by  Kurt (4579)

One of the ten commandments prohibits taking the name of God in vain. This is interpeted as profanity. It is just not considered a good practice by believers. It is not considered as terrible as murder, but still not recommended.

I wouldn't say it's never allowed - a lot depends on the Christian you are talking to. The main concern comes from the Sermon on the Mount, where Jesus stated (Matthew 5:33 - 37) his followers should "not swear at all. " Because of that, oaths of any sort, even profane ones, are to be avoided.
