Pentecostals believe that we have to follow what God has planned in our lives. We try our hardest to not follow worldly desire, but has humans we all fall into the temptations of this world. Our purpose in life is to let others know about Christ and live Christ-like.

Many Pentecostal churches use Acts 2:38 as their path to salvation, which includes receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost. Some may "speak in tongues", while others have the ability to interpret the message. Some Pentecostals believe other denominations are wrong for not following Acts 2:38 completely.

I was a member of an Apostolic Pentecostal church during the late 1970s. As a teenager, I was discouraged from swimming with the opposite sex, watching movies, associating with Catholics or so-called "Trinitarians" and wearing my hair past my collar. It's a strict way of life, for sure.  add a comment

Pentecostal beliefs varies between groups. Some follow the overly religious view and prohibit many things music, television etc. While others are more understanding and allow many other things. The boundaries inside the religion are very unclear.

Pentecostal Christians are unique because during their church services they speak in tongues. Perhaps they are copying the people who did so in the story about the Tower of Babel.

Pentecostal Christianity believes that many secular things are sins, they prohibit their wives and daughters from cutting their hair. Pentecostal do not watch television or listen to secular music. They believe in being filled with the Holy Spirit and being baptized in the spirit.

Your ideas are false, while Pentecostals don't encourage secular music/movies, they still find no problem in listening or watching to secular music/movies. As a pentecostal, I've never seen a female not cutting their hair.  add a comment
