Why is A/C smoke coming out of my hood?

Does it have to do with the A/C pulley? I have a 2000 Ford Focus.

It is most likely because your A/C motor is wearing out or has a belt rubbing. Most likely the a/c motor is starting to go bad. These can be relatively expensive to fix so I recommend going to find a used part at a salvage yard or on ebay motors.
