Question by  Tim67 (23)

Why don't the brake lights on my Ford truck work?

Answer by  John (9008)

You could have a blown fuse. Other possibilities include both bulbs being burnt out or a short in your electrical system.

let a mechanic check the brake light switch that is connected to the brake pedal. also it could be a fuse or a bulb that is bad. have mechanic check wires also.

Often times, it is a simple fuse issue. Locate you fuse box and replace the fuse that operates your brake lights. If that doesn't work, trace the line.

There are a few things that could cause this problem: your truck has a fuse that needs to be replaced, the bulbs need to be replaced or it could be a shorted or loose wire. I would start by having these checked out first as they are inexpensive and relatively easy to repair.
