Try putting a little wd40 on the button on your door that pushed down when you close the door. Alot of times these switches will stick. If that does not work replace door switch. These switches are very cheep and easy to replace. The other cause could be a short but try the other options first.

This seems to be a well known common fault with GMC. The sensors in the doors become faulty and the light no longer shuts off. Check your owner's manual too - maybe there is something in there to advise you.

You have a sensor problem. The sensor itself is only a $3 part, but it can be a labor intensive job.

Look in your fuze box and see if any are missing. Maybe the lights signal is off and stay on all the time. If you know how to replace a blown or missing fuze try it if not go to the dealer ship you bought the car from, he could simply do it for free.

You have a faulty lock light deployment sensor module in a door. This can occur due to friction that results from accumulated dirt and grime. Depress the locator tabs holding the door upholstery and examine the door lock light deployment sensor module. Use a stream of WD-40 to clean the piston rod. Try the lock switch before re-installing the upholstery.

Well. The reason for your light not shutting off is most likely the sensor went out. It's not un-common for these sensors that get lots of use to go out such as seat belt, air bag, etc. Cheap fix.

First, you may want to check your actual cars. Take it in, and see if there are any technical problems with it. Check the fuse. Is it functioning properly? Good Luck

On every car the lock light symbol appears, it should go away when the lock is off or on. This lock light signal may not go away becasue there might be something wrong with the lighting wiring that is done in the car. In order to get the car fixed it should be taken to a auto shop.

For the same reason than a porch light is on at night, to give the impression someone is in and therefore risky for would be burglers.
