Why does my yellow lab have a shaking head?

Answer by  abccraft (85)

Your lab's problem is with his ears. He most likely has ear mites. There is nothing to be upset about all you need to do is put two or three drops of mineral oil in each ear. This should take care of the problem. If not consult your Vet.

Because of the Lab's large ear flaps, the breed is prone to ear problems like mites and yeast infections. The ear canal is warm, dark and damp and provides the perfect environment for parasites and fungus. Your dog is likely shaking his head to relieve the annoying itching. Get him to the veterinarian right away.

It may be because of a ear infection. Dogs shake their heads when their ear hurts. It could also be a neurological problem so you need to get your dog to the vet.
