Give her clean bedding with food and water nearby. when she is ready to give birth make sure she is on that bed, and just stay nearby, she should know what to do on her own. Make sure the bedding stays clean and that the puppies stay warm.

Having puppies is what dogs do, so just let nature take it's course. Make sure the mother dog has plenty of water, and that she feels safe. If the puppies don't nurse you can get milk from the local vet.

Well if you want to care about new born puppies, you need to know about their strong need for a high calcium diet. They need to be eating a lot of protein rich foods.

If she is having the puppies, make a comfortable place for her to have them, then just wait. If she is having a hard time pushing one out, help her little bit. After they are all born, all you gotta do is watch and adore. Make sure she has plenty of water and food.

Firstly, congratulations! A kiddie pool allows the mother dog to climb out after the birth but the puppies can't. When the mother is laboring feed her ice chips. Rip the mucus membrane from the puppy if the mother doesn't. The mother usually licks off the mucus membrane.

The puppies will need to be in a draft free room with a tempature at 70-80 degrees. Create a bed for your puppies with a box and some towels. Keep a newspaper on the ground near their bed for them to use as a "bathroom" as they won't be able to travel too far at first.

If your dog is taking care of her babies, then there is really nothing you need to do. She will clean them up, she will lay there and let her babies feed and make sure they go potty. Just make sure to take care of the mother by providing her a little more food and water.

The biggest thing to remember is that they are your dog's puppies. You will need to start feeding them wet food at about 4 weeks or so. You should be aware that the puppies need to be cared for by their mother until they are 6-8 weeks old.

In most cases, the mother will take care of them, so don't touch or play with the puppies until they are several weeks old.

Let the mother do most of the taking care of them. You will need to make sure that the family is comfortable. She will need milk when she is nursing, so that her puppies can get calcium that they need. Be sure not to take the puppies away from the mother until the are somewhere between 6-8 weeks.

First off is it a confirmed pregnancy? Gestation for dogs is about 52 days. You will know when she is going into labor when her temp. drops below 100 degrees. I suggest reading on the web on "whelping" procedures because they vary by breed. Good Luck.
