Why does my engine die if the throttle is not back off?

There may be carbon deposit or impurities in the engine compartments. Remove the throttle valve or clean it throughly, check for damage or defect if not install it,it will work.

You should try replacing the air cleaner and fuel filter first. Or you probably got a vacuum leak. Vacuum leaks are difficult to find. Better have a mechanic fix it.

If your car dies when you apply the throttle it typically means a fuel system issue. The engine is getting too little or too much fuel causing it to stall.

This could be caused by a few things. First of all you may have a vacuum leak that is letting in too much air. Second the engine may be running to rich. Thirdly it could be something wrong with the ignition. Check for leaks and do an engine tune up.
