Dodge vehicles, particularly older ones, are notorious for blowing their AC's so hard and powerful that they literally freeze themselves up and have to thaw out again before they cool.

It may need a recharge of refrigerant or possibly the heater core is starting to go bad.

You may be running low on freon. You will have to take your truck to a shop and have the a/c "recharged".

More than likely is the recirculation door thats causeing the problem. You'll have to take it to the dealer becuase you usually have to pull the whole dash to fix.

If the air conditioning unit is blowing cold first, then turning hot you may have crossed wires in the heating unit. You probably should have this checked out. You may also need to recharge the air conditioning unit with coolant depending on the age of the vehicle and the unit.

It is quite possible that your engine heat is leaking in. There is a series of small valves that should close and open. When you have the heat on, they allow the engine heat into the vents. When you turn on the air conditioning, they should close, allowing the cold air to continue unimpeded.

Maybe because there are crossed wires on the heating unit,or lack of freon. You may also adjust the the air conditioning system.

because the air conditioning system is not adjusted. First, it sharply cools the air in the cabin, and when the heat starts to fall temperature it. it cools too quickly. And when air conditioning cools to 20, the process goes on and the temperature is reduced. That is why the system starts heating up after cooling
