This type of pain is likely sciatica and is due to pressure on the sciatic nerve that runs from the lower back through the buttocks and all the way down to the foot. It may be due to a mechanical problem in the lower back such as a herniated disc or spinal stenosis.

It sounds like you have a pinched nerve. A Chiropractor is the best bet for fixing your problem. Most pinched nerves are pinched in your spine or in your joints and that's what they specialise in. Be sure to follow their routine all the way out or you will get your problem back a short time latter.

Pins and needles in buttocks is often caused by sciatica or a slight disk bugle. You may feel pain running down your leg too. Request an MRI if it continues.

The "pins and needles" feeling can be caused by a lack of sufficient circulation to the area, which may also result in numbness. Also the misfunction of the some of the nerves in that area, causing them to fire when they shouldn't be, or perhaps not firing when they should, can also be responsible.

If one has pins and needles in one buttocks means lack of some vitamins. When there is constipation then this will occur.
