The substance that is used in bug repellent is the same stuff that's used in skin so soft. You can combine different skin care products to make them do double duty - like moisturizer and sun screen.

Nobody knows what is in Skin So Soft that makes it a repellent. In fact, there is uncertainty whether it actually works to repel bugs. Bugs that bite usually find their victims by smell. If there is a way to make you not smell like food to a bug, it won't bite you. That is how bug repellents work.

Certain chemicals in Avon Skin So Soft repel bugs by mere coincidence. Insects do not like certain fragrances, and this solution just happens to have one or more of these.

This repellent works because the chemical in the bug repellent makes it unpleasent for insects to land on your skin.

You won't be terrorized by painful mosquito bites if you apply Avon Skin So Soft before being in the outdoors because the little biters don't like the lovely smell of this product. The spray is the best application in my opinion because it is the easiest, quickest way to cover yourself and your clothing completely to protect against bug bites.

I speculate that the short period of time it does repel mosquitoes is because of the fragrance used in it. For better repellent try deet lotion and vitamin B1 pills.

Depending on the type of skin you have Avon Skin So Soft is good as a bug repellent for the skin, but it doesn't work for everyone and so it should be tried before you actually purchase it for yourself, because you wouldn't want to have wasted your money on a product that you can't use.
