People wear sombreros for the same reasons anyone wears hats. They protect your face from the sun and provide your body with shade.

People wear sombreros because it protects them from hot sun. Sombreros refers to hat with a brim which may or may turn at edges depending upon the design. Sombreros are used for protecting one's head, neck, and shoulders from the hot sun, hence mostly used by people who work outdoors
